@rpcutts I think the national (small c) conservatism is more based around gradual change which is why you don't see too much push to reverse "progressive" policies like gay rights and abortion. When I was younger I used to ask my mum what she thought the conservatives believed in and she would say "the clue is in the name". They have strayed some way from that path now.
